Details of the Mavic Crossmax SL Ultimate

The adaptive layup technology enabled Mavic to handcraft these carbon rims with less material between the spokes. The spoke holes are reinforced with strategically positioned carbon layering in a process that minimizes weight without compromising stiffness and strength. A lighter rim means faster acceleration, more efficient climbing and a more responsive feel on the trail.

Extensive field testing with pro athletes determined that a 25mm inner width was ideal for a quick and precise ride quality on fast racetracks. The wider rim optimized tire grip and add confidence and control on rugged singletracks. The rim is laced with 24 crossed straight-pull spokes for maximum power transfer and enhanced vertical compliance. The Infinity hub design optimizes the lateral stiffness and the spoke lacing maximizes power transfer.

The Instant Drive 360 freewheel coupled with the automatic bearing preload adjustment (QRM Auto) delivers fast engagement and durability.
